Irene Aversa
About me:
With a background in political science and international relations, coupled with extensive experience in customer research, legal research, and public relations, I bring a unique perspective to the field of UX Research. With a master's degree from the University of Gothenburg, where I also worked as a university research assistant, I have honed my skills in conducting interviews, collecting data, and analysing information. My academic journey has taken me across borders, studying and working in countries such as the UK, the US, and my home country, Italy, providing me with a diverse and global outlook.
As a UX Researcher at Volvo Cars, I have had the opportunity to apply my passion for user research and UX design to create car service experiences that are not only intuitive and enjoyable but also inclusive. Collaborating with a diverse team of designers, engineers, and product owners, I have contributed to projects focusing on user and accessibility testing, competitive analysis, data analysis, and research visualisation.
At Daniel Wellington, I worked as a Customer Research Advisor, studying customer trends within the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets. This role required me to collect both qualitative and quantitative data to provide valuable insights to the product owner.
My experience as a Researcher at the Rights & Courts Group at Göteborgs universitet involved conducting semi-structured interviews, collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data, and engaging in legal research methods. Working on research projects funded by the Swedish Research Council, I was involved in studying the changing roles of courts in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
Methodology:
In my approach to UX research, I employ a variety of methodologies to ensure comprehensive and insightful results. Whether conducting user interviews, performing usability tests, or analysing data, I prioritise a user-centred approach.
My methodology involves:
User Interviews: Conducting in-depth interviews to understand user needs, preferences, and pain points.
Usability Testing: Employing usability testing to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of digital products and services.
Data Analysis: Utilising both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques to derive meaningful insights.
Research Visualisation: Presenting research findings through visualisation tools such as Figma, making complex data accessible and actionable for cross-functional teams.
Prototype Testing: Connecting research findings directly to the design process by testing prototypes with end-users, ensuring that design decisions are informed by real user feedback.
With a commitment to excellence and a passion for understanding user behavior, I am dedicated to creating meaningful and impactful user experiences. My portfolio reflects my expertise in conducting thorough research, employing various methodologies, and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
